251 miles allowed. Aug. 9th, 1776. Camped near New York.

Selectmen of town of Oakham, MA
procured men to serve in the Continental Army for 3 year term. Men
accepted by Muster Master & Supt. . Return June 5th, 1781. Received
bounty and marched. He was originally a British Soldier who had served
in the 33rd Regiment under General Burgoyne and was taken prisoner at
Saratoga Oct., 1777. He either escaped or obtained a pass to leave the
barracks. He settled at Oakham, MA |
