Mrs. Moses Perkins died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Wallace Tuesday morning, the result of a stroke and apoplexy. Last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace went out driving. When they left the house Mrs. Perkins was in her usual health and was busying herself about the yard. They returned from their drive a little before 9 o'clock, and not finding Mrs. Perkins in the house, thought she had gone to neighbors. A little later however, their son, Walter, in passing along the walk in the yard on the south side of the house, found his grandmother lying on the ground by the side of the walk in an unconscious condition. She was instantly cared for and physicians summoned, but they pronounced it a stroke of apoplexy and could do nothing. She remained in an unconscious condition to the time of her death. Sarah J. Sampson was born at Hatley, Canada, December 7th, 1825. She was first married to a gentleman named Wadleigh. He lived only six months after their marriage and on December 22nd, 1853 at Melbourne, Canada she married Moses Perkins. In 1855 they came to Stevens Point, and she had lived here ever since. Mr. Perkins died in 1885. Mrs. Perkins was the mother of six children, three of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Henry Wallace of this city, with whom she had made her home for the past twelve years, W. S. Perkins and  S. W. Perkins of Sultan, Washington. Mrs. Perkins was a quiet woman of domestic habits, but had many friends and acquaintances, especially among the older settlers. In some respects she was a remarkably well
preserved woman, for although seventy-five years old, her hair had not com-menced to show the silver threads.
