John Powell Perkins b.1843 County Cornwall,
England. Son of (John b.1815 England d.1894 WI & Jane (Prust) Perkins). His
wife JOSEY ANN (KNOWLES). He removed
from England with his parents, first to New York then to IL and in 1864
to Hustisford, WI. He and his father were blacksmiths. In 1878 he
removed to Juneau, WI.
Their known children were:

Thomas P. Perkins b.1843 County
Cornwall, England. Son of (John
b.1815 England d.1894 WI &
Jane (Prust) Perkins). His wife RACHAEL R. (BAKER).
He came with is parents from County Cornwall, England, first to New York
then to IL and in 1864 to Hustisford, WI. In 1871 he removed to
Wright Co., IA for six years and then returned to Hustisford, WI.
Their known children were:

In 1845 the family
came from New York to Dane Co., WI. They
were
listed on the 1860 WI Census at Medina, Dane Co., WI. In 1863 he resided at
Lake Mills, Jefferson Co., WI. They later removed to
Pine Island, Goodhue County, Minnesota. Their known children were:

3. Claude C. Perkins b. 1874 MN

Co., NY. They removed to Wisconsin and it
may have been the "Jane" Perkins listed on the
1850 Census at Watertown,
Jefferson Co., WI by herself and two of the three children. The entire
family was listed on
the 1860 WI Census at Calamus, Dodge Co., WI. Their known children were:

2. W.H. Perkins b.1841 N.Y.

listed on the 1860 WI Census at Pokegama township, Superior, Douglas Co., WI as a Merchant. No wife or children.
It was probably he who first purchased land on 3/8/1857 at Township 47N
Range 14W in Section 1, NE 1/4 SE 1/4 and SE 1/4 SE 1/4 Douglas Co., WI

Captain John E. Perkins was
soldier in the Civil War. His regiment had a mascot, a Bald Eagle, who they
named "Old Abe". |
