ROBERT PERKINS
(Capt.) Robert Perkins b.1793 d.1826 Strafford, Orange Co., VT. Son of (John & Nancy (Unknown) Perkins of Walden, VT). Per Strafford, Orange Co., VT land records, he resided in Strafford, Orange Co., VT as early as 1817. I do not find any mention of "Emely Perkins" or any wife when his estate was settled. He ran a shop\store at Strafford, Orange Co., VT. I don't know exactly what type of shop/store it was but, I do find a document in Strafford, Orange Co., VT that he was paid to build a coffin\casket. He was not enumerated on the 1820 Census at Strafford, Orange Co., VT. He may have been the person age 16-25 in the household of George Perkins in 1810. He may have been the person age 26-44 listed in the George Perkins (above) household in 1820. He was referred to in a deed as "Capt. Robert Perkins". (War of 1812 ?)

He may or may not be related to George Perkins (above) but, I do find it curious that he purchased a lot of land from George Perkins near the "Shop\Store" for only $1.00 when George Perkins paid $10.00 for it. I also find it curious that he is not a head-of-household in 1820, especially after he purchased land there in 1817.

**No mention of any wife or children when his estate was settled**
