ENOCH PERKINS

Enoch Perkins b.1779 NY. Son of (Zopher & Charity (Cooper ?) Perkins ). His wife JANE (unknown). They were listed on the 1820 New York Census at Aurelius, Cayuga Co. In 1830-1850 they were listed at Mentz, Cayuga Co., NY.

Their known child was:

Shubael Perkins b.1781 Hebron, Tolland Co., CT d.1866 Sherman, Chautauqua Co., NY. (*Possible - Son of (Samuel & Abigail (unknown) Perkins). His wife CHLOE (MANLEY). They were listed on 1820 & 1830 New York Census at Windsor, Broome Co., NY. He is buried at the Sherman Cemetery, Sherman, Chautauqua Co., NY.

Their known children were:

RICHARD PERKINS
Richard Perkins b. ca. 1786 CT d.1857 NY.  His wife MERCY (CORNELL). He was listed on the 1820 New York census at Broome Co., NY.  They were listed on the 1830 Census at Butternuts, Otsego Co., NY. According to the book source below, they were known to have died at "Butternuts".

Their known children were:

4. Eunice Perkins b.1834 NY

RICHARD PERKINS III.
Richard Perkins III. b. ca. 1795 Oneida Co., NY d.1880 NY. Son of (Dr. Richard Jr. & Eliza (Nichols) Perkins). His wife MARY (WYMAN\WINIAN) b. ? d.1880. They were listed on the 1820 at Rodman, Jefferson Co., NY and in 1830 Census at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY. According to the source book listed below, he was a prominent and influential man in Otsego Co., NY ? (1850 Oswego Co., NY) and a Deacon of the Presbyterian Church in his "native town".

They were known to have 9 children 4 of whom are known:

Ephraim Perkins b.1793 Hebron, CT. Son of (Samuel & Abigail (Unknown) Perkins). His 1st wife IANTHE (BADGER) b.1800 d.1829), 2nd. wife DEBORAH (CARPENTER). They were listed on the 1820 N.Y. Census at Windsor, Broome Co., N.Y. In 1830 at Smithville Flats, Chenango Co., N.Y.  In 1850 at Maine, Broome Co., NY. This couple later resided at Whiteside Co., IL.

His known children w/1st. wife were:

1. Egbert Perkins b.

3. Samuel Milo Perkins b.1823
4. Abigail Perkins b.1828
5. Martha Perkins b.
6. Almira/Elmina Perkins b.1821 m. 1844 Troy, PA; John Fitzsimmons Burlingame

SAMUEL PERKINS
Samuel Perkins b.1751 Lebanon, CT d. after 1832 NY. His wife ABIGAIL (Unknown) (poss. Abigail (Cook), daughter of Ephraim & Mary (Merrick) Cook). He removed from CT in 1812 to Windsor, Broome Co., NY . They were listed on the 1820 New York Census at Windsor, Broome Co., N.Y.

Their known children were:

2.(probably) Shubael Perkins b.1781 CT
3.(Probably) Harvey Perkins b.1787 CT m. Mary Stow

JOSIAH PERKINS
Josiah Perkins b.1776 CT. (**Possible** - Son of (Samuel & Abigail (Unknown) Perkins).  His wife CLARISSA (PAYNE). They were listed on the 1820-1840 New York Census at Windsor, Broome Co., N.Y. In 1850 they moved to Durell, Bradford Co., PA. In 1855 they moved back to Conklin, Broome Co., NY and were living with their son Harlow Perkins until the tragic house fire that occurred on Nov. 7th 1856 when Clarissa (Payne) Perkins perished in the house fire. Josiah Perkins moved back to Susquehanna Co., PA by 1860 when he went to live with his son David Perkins and family at Bridgewater, Susquehanna Co., PA, and his daughter Betsey Perkins age 32.

Their known children were:

1. Louisa Perkins b. ? NY m. Luther P. Warner
2. William Perkins b.1816 NY
3. Harlow Perkins b.1816 NY
4. David Perkins b.1819 NY
5. Betsey Perkins b.1828 CT
 

*I suspect there were other children born to this couple (1800-1815) in CT or it's possible Clarissa was a 2nd wife.

BENJAMIN PERKINS
Benjamin Perkins b. ? VT. He came to NY from Vermont. His wife was (Unknown (CARY), a sister of John W. Cary. They were listed on the 1820 Census at Ischua, Cattaraugus Co., NY. They left this location by 1821.
