He is listed on the 1820 Galen, Seneca Co., NY Census and the 1830 Galen, Wayne Co., NY Census as "Erastus Purkins". He is listed on the 1840 & 1850 MI Census at York, Washtenaw Co., MI .

A daughter of Dr. Elisha and Chloe (Turner) Blakeman\Blakemany. They were married at Galen, Wayne Co., New York on 12-31-1826. Also resided at Newton (Falls) ?, St. Lawrence Co. NY and Clyde, Wayne Co., NY. He is listed on the 1830 Census at Galen, Wayne Co., NY as "Jacob Purkins". They were listed on the 1840 & 1850 Census at York, Washtenaw Co., MI. In 1860 they removed to Summit, Jackson Co., MI
