JAMES PERKINS
James Perkins b. 7.12.1802 Barnard, Windsor Co., VT d.10.29.1879 Lima, Livingston Co., NY.  Son of (Abner & Mary "Polly" (Shay) Perkins). His wife ANNA (BOND). They were listed on the 1830 & 1840 New York Census at Hume\Portage, Allegany Co., NY. In 1846, Portage, Allegany Co., NY was annexed into Livingston Co., NY. They are listed on the 1850 Census at Portage, Livingston Co., NY

Their known children were:

1. Charles Perkins b.1835 NY   *Listed on 1870 Census w/J. Herbert Perkins (Joseph Herbert Perkins - (below). at Des Moines, Polk Co., IA
2. Joseph Herbert Perkins b.1837/1839 NY d.1916 Berrien Springs, Berrien Co, MI   
*In 1853 he inherited 40 acres of Land at Clinton Co., MI from his uncle Abner Perkins Jr., removed to Berrien Co., MI

BENJAMIN PERKINS
Benjamin Perkins b. 4.29.1775 Ashford, CT. d. 4.24.1845 Greene, Chenango Co., NY His wife SARAH (VIETS) b.1794 Granby, CT. This couple was married Aug. 20th, 1815 at Ashford, CT. They removed from Ashford, CT to Springfield, MA and then to Sheffield, MA. They settled at Greene, Chenango Co., NY. They were listed on the 1830 New York Census at Greene, Chenango Co., NY.

Their known children were:

1. Chaplin Viets Perkins b.1816 Springfield, MA d.1849 Cortland Co., NY m. Rhoda B. Sweetland  (*No children of his own)
2. Mary Perkins b.1817 MA d.1823 Sheffield, MA

GURDEN\GURDON\GURDEON PERKINS
Gurden\Gurdon\Gurdeon Perkins b.1812 NY d.1873 Oxford, Chenango Co., NY. Son of (Erastus & Abigail (Stephens) Perkins). His wife m.12.26.1842 Green Co., NY;  FRANCES ADELIA (SQUIRES). He was listed as a single man on the 1840 Census at Greene, Chenango Co., NY. They were listed on the 1850 Census at Oxford, Chenango Co., NY in a Hotel run by his brother Alvin S. Perkins b.1808.  *PROBABLY* he who m. 2nd. SABINE LYDIA (CHAMPION) b. 1836 MI d.1870 Washington D.C.. He removed to Chicago, Cook Co., IL and later returned to New York where he died.

Luke Perkins Jr. b. 1797 NY d.1883 Plainfield, Will Co., IL. His wife SARAH (PRESTON) (probably a daughter of James Preston). They were listed on the 1830 New York Census at Norwich, Chenango Co., NY. He is listed on the 1830 Census as "Luke Perkins Jr.". In 1840 they removed to Otsego Co., NY and by 1860 removed to Plainfield, Will Co., IL.

Their known children were:

1. Alfred J. Perkins b.1834 NY d.1919 IL m. Eliza (Bangs) * Removed to Plainfield, Will Co., Illinois
2. Leroy D. Perkins b.1842 NY
3. Sarah Perkins b.1849 NY
