1877: Dec. 6th - Nebraska Advertiser - Brownville, NE
James B. Perkins died in a saloon at
Seward on the evening of January 30th, 1876, in a sudden manner, while
under the influence of liquor. His wife Eliza
Perkins, for herself and children, entered suit from ten
thousand dollars damages against Charles Hackworth and other saloon
keepers who sold and gave him liquor to drink on that day. The cause came
on for trial last week in the Seward county District court, and resulted
in a verdict of $3,000 for the plaintiff.

1894: March 8th - Omaha Daily Bee - Omaha, NE
Mrs. Caroline Perkins died Saturday,
March 8, at the home of her sister, Miss Averill, 1110 Fourth avenue, aged
77 years. She was also a sister of Mrs. M. C. Hoon, who lives next door to
Miss Averill, and had been a resident of this city about five years. The
remains were taken to Lone Tree, Johnson county, IA for interment.

Mrs. R. C. Perkins, mother of Clark
Perkins, secretary to the State Railway commission, died at her home
in St. Paul this morning. Mrs. Perkins had been ill for some months and
her death was not unexpected.
