    | Joseph Perkins b. ? (*probably 1773 Derby, CT)  CT d. ?
(probably 1815 ?) Williamstown/Amboy, Oswego Co., NY. His wife
    UNKNOWN (UNKNOWN) (*probably.
SARAH (CANDE/CANDEE). In 1805 he came from Connecticut and was the first
settler of the town of Williamstown, Oswego Co., NY. He settled on the east
half of lot #14. Sometime in 1805, he opened a public house where John
Jacobs now lives (1830 John Jacobs lived at Sandy
Creek, Oswego Co., NY). He lived in
Williamstown/Amboy until his death. He was accidentally killed
while working in the woods. He left a family of two sons and three
daughters. He was not listed on the 1810 Oswego Co., NY (I don't know why
    ???).

    WAS
HE or WAS HE NOT is the Question: **Note** - It has been suggested that this Joseph
Perkins,  was Joseph Perkins b. 1773 Derby, New Haven Co., CT
d.1815 >? son of Ithiel b.1733 CT d.1826 VT & Mrs. Esther (Chatfield) (Fox)
Perkins. It has been recorded that
Joseph Perkins b.1773 Derby, CT, son of Ithiel & Esther (Chatfield-Fox)
    Perkins, m. Sarah (Cande\Candee).

A discrepancy was found that the above Joseph Perkins b. ? CT d.
Williamstown/Amboy, Oswego Co., NY was NOT the son of Ithiel & Esther
(Chatfield-Fox) Perkins. The information comes from the auto-biography of
Roger Perkins  b.1769 CT a known son of Ithiel & Esther (Chatfield-Fox)
Perkins. He states "I was born Apr. 5, 1769 in Derby, CT. My father was
Ithiel Perkins, he was born Jan. 10, 1734, came to Fair Haven, VT in 1795.
He was a Soldier in the Revolutionary War and was wounded at Bunker Hill. He
died Feb. 1826 VT. My mother was Esther Fox and was married to father on
Oct. 26, 1767. Father died crazy. My brothers David Perkins and Joseph
    Perkins stayed in Connecticut"..........

A discrepancy was found that the above
    Joseph Perkins b. ? CT d. Williamstown/Amboy,
Oswego Co., NY WAS the son of Ithiel & Esther (Chatfield-Fox)
Perkins. This information comes from the book "The Candee Genealogy: With
notices of Allied Families by Charles C. Baldwin (1832). In this book it is
stated that Sarah Cande/Candee m. Joseph Perkins and that she and her sister
Huldah (Cande/Candee) who married ???? Seymour\Seymoure where known to have
    moved to Oswego Co., NY.

I have been unable to locate any information on Joseph & Sarah (Cande/Candee)
Perkins on any census or local records in Oswego Co., NY at this time of
    this writing (6/18/2022).
I did however locate Real Estate - Sales Records (1816-1830) v. 1, Image
    27 of 67 at www.familysearch.org
that contained information on a Gideon Seymor of Volney, Oswego Co., NY, who
died sometime in 1825. His wives name is listed on the document "IN the
matter of the real estate of Gideon Seymore" as Huldah Seymor. Gideon &
Huldah Seymor lived in the town of Volney, Oswego Co., NY on a 21 acre lot
that was opposite the dwelling house of "Asa Cande". I find Hulday Seymor
listed on the 1830 census at Volney, Oswego Co.,NY and then in 1840 Huldah
Seymor listed at Volney, Oswego Co., NY. In the Candee Genelogy book
mentioned above, it is recorded that Sarah (Cande\Candee) Perkins & Huldah (Cande\Candee)
Seymore did have a brother named Asa Cande\Candee b.1791. Further research
shows that he m. Mary (Mc McAlpine) and removed to Volney, Oswego Co., NY as
early as 1812 and died in 1871 at McGregor, Clayton Co., IA.

*Thoughts* Even though in the auto-biography of Roger Perkins when he
states that his brothers "David Perkins & Joseph Perkins stayed in
Connecticut", it is highly possible that yes, as far as he knew, when he and
his father removed to Fair Haven, VT in 1795, that his brothers "stayed in
Connecticut". This does not mean they stayed there until they died.

The known children of Joseph & Sarah (Cande/Candee) Perkins were:

 1. Ithiel Perkins b.1793 CT d.1793 CT
 2. Unknown Perkins b. ? d.1795 CT
 3. Alta Perkins b.1797 CT
