ELISHA PERKINS
Dr. Elisha Perkins Jr. b.1763 CT. Son of (Dr. Elisha Perkins & Sarah (Douglas) of Norwich, CT). His 1st. wife EUNICE (BACKUS), 2nd. wife ELEANOR (HUGHES). They were listed on the 1800 Census at Strasburg, Lancaster Co., PA. In 1820 he removed to Baltimore, Maryland.

His known child w/ 1st wife:

1. Elisha Backus Perkins b.1792 m. Emily Pope  *Removed CT, Tallahasse, FL, Marietta, Washington Co., OH and settled at Oconomowoc, Waukesha Co., WI

   
His known child w/ 2nd wife:

2. Ellen E. Perkins b. 1823 m. Joseph Flemming Perkins, M.D. (Son of: John & Rebecca (Hughes) Perkins [*below]

 

 

JOHN D. PERKINS

(Rev.) Dr. John Douglas Perkins b.1769 Plainfield, Windham Co., CT d. 1847 Coatesville, Chester Co., PA. Son of (Dr. Elisha Perkins & Sarah (Douglas) of Norwich, CT). His wife REBECCA (HUGHES). He was most likely the John D. Perkins of "Plainfield, Windham Co., CT" who purchased a piece of land, lot number 10 in the first range at Concord, Essex Co., VT on 7.21.1797. In 1801, a notice in The Green Mountain Patriot newspaper dated May 28th, 1801 reported that he was delinquent in his payment of Direct Tax on the property he owned at Concord, Essex Co., VT. They were known to have married in 1802 at Coatesville, Chester Co., PA. They were listed on the 1820-1840 PA Census at East Caln, Chester Co., PA.  He was known to have removed to Strasburg, Lancaster Co., PA. On Aug, 29th, 1800 he opened a medical practice at Lancaster, PA but, he was not enumerated on the 1800 Census there. I have also been unable to pin-point his location in 1810.

Elisha Perkins, Dr. b. 1741 - d. 1799 at New York. Son of (Joseph(4) & Mary (Bushnell) Perkins (a son of Joseph(3) & Martha (Morgan) Perkins, Jacob(2), John(1) of Ipswich, MA).  His wife SARAH (DOUGLAS). Resided at Norwich, CT.
