WALDEN - HIRAM
PERKINS, died Jan. 11th, 1878, in the 76th year of his age. Mr.
Perkins had been town clerk, with the exception of one year, for nearly 28
years; for more than 30 years a justice of the peace; also high sheriff of
the county, a member of the state legislature, as well as selectman, town
treasurer, trustee of surplus funds, constable and collector of taxes,
with other offices of trust. His disease was complicated and of long
standing, but his confinement to the house before his death was of short
duration, yet suffering extremely. He leaves a widow but no children; also
a large circle of mourning friends and acquaintances.

NORTH DANVILLE - CHARLES PERKINS, died
Saturday night after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Perkins was born
in Gloucestershire, England, about 59 years ago, came to this town over
twenty years ago and has always lived on the farm where he died. He leaves
a wife, two sons, Charles Perkins and David Perkins, and two
daughters, Mary Perkins, being the wife of J. W. Gillis, and
Phebe Perkins, married L. S. Langmaid. All reside in this town.
Funeral services were held at the Free Baptist church Monday at 1 p.m.,

LYMAN PERKINS, who died at Rutland
March 28th, was the oldest business man in that city. He was a native of
East Middlebury and was 83 years old.

The widow of the late Charles Perkins, died at her home in this
place Monday morning at the age of 70 years. The funeral is held this
Wednesday afternoon at the Free Baptist church. Mrs. Perkins leaves two
sons, Charles Perkins and David Perkins, and two daughters,
Mrs. Ward Gillis and Mrs. L. S. Langmaid, all of this town.
