David Perkins b.

Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA. Son of
(John & Hebzibah
(Griswold) Perkins). His wife 1st. SARAH (FERRIER),
2nd wife m.1817 PA; Mrs. SARAH (TUTTLE) PETTEBONE.,
widow of
Payne Pettebone Sr.
They came from Windham County CT. After the death of his father, David Perkins returned to the
Susquehanna valley in
about 1786 with his brother Aaron Perkins, and after being bound out by Mr. Benjamin
Carpenter who was his brother-in-law, who married Mary (Ferrier) the sister
of Sarah (Ferrier) Perkins. He became a large land owner of about 4000 acres along the Susquehanna River.
They are listed on the 1790-1850 Census at Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA.

John Perkins (the father
of David Perkins), came from Plainfield, Windham Co., CT
to the Wyoming Valley in 1769, he was among it's earliest settlers and owned much land. He
was involved in the Indian Massacre and lost his eldest child in the battle. He and his
wife and sons, Aaron, John Jr. and David returned to CT for a while and upon John Perkins
Sr. return to PA alone, he was scalped by a gang of Indians. His wife, Hebzibah remarried
her cousin, Mr. Phineas Griswold.

Aaron Perkins b. 1763CT d.1848
PA. Son of (John & Hepzibah (Griswold) Perkins). He was a Revolutionary War Soldier who enlisted from Windsor,
CT in 1776. He served in the Wyoming Valley Connecticut line, was in the skirmish
at Millstone N.J. and fought against the Indians. He is listed on the 1840
Census at Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA as head of household. No wife, no
children listed. More
research is need to determine if/who he married and the names of his children.? |

They were listed on the 1830 Census at Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA Census. On
the 1840 Luzerne Co., PA Census
Eunice Perkins is listed as the head-of-household. She is listed on the 1850 Census as a "widow".
