Marriage:
The marriage of Miss Mary Lawrence Perkins,
daughter of Mrs. C. L. Perkins of New York to
Mr. Waldron Kintzing Post, who's summer home is in Bayport, NY, is spoken
of in the Brooklyn Eagle as the grandest social event of the season in
Glen Cove, NY, where it took place last Saturday. The ceremony was
performed in St. Paul's church by Rev. Dr. Robbins of Philadelphia,
assisted by the Rev. Samuel Maxwell, rector of St. Paul's, and the Rev. J.
H. Prescott of Sayville, NY. The bridesmaids were Misses Eleanor Robinson,
Margaret Morgan, Beatrice Post and Katherine Cowely, and the best man Mr.
Regis Post. The bride's dress was of white satin, trimmed with point lace
and lilies of the valley, and the bridesmaids wore yellow moire, brown
hats and carried yellow chrysanthemums. The ushers were Messer, Wright
Post, George Blogden Jr., R. P. Perkins,
Fletcher Huntington, H. Lockwood, Kenneth Taylor, Edward Renshaw Jones,

Death:
Mrs. Susan Halsey, widow of George Halsey,
died aged 83, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs.
John R. Perkins. Three children survive her;
Mrs. John Perkins, of Riverhead, James Halsey, of Vanderbilt avenue.,
Brooklyn, NY; and Edward Pierson of San Francisco, Cal, a son by her first
husband.

Death:
J. Henry Perkins,
Riverhead's leading citizen died. No man was better and more favorably
known throughout Suffolk County than was J. Henry
Perkins. For more than forty years he has been engaged in the
clothing business at the county seat of Suffolk. His partner was his
brother, John R. Perkins, and their store was
the historic old Court House property. Mr. Perkins
was born April 8th, 1839, one mile west of Riverhead, at what is known as
Upper Mills. His father was John Perkins, who
was born near Bath, England, and moved to this country when a young man,
living for a time at Fishkill, NY, and who came to Riverhead in 1828.
John Perkins introduced the woolen mill into Suffolk County, and
his sons carried on the manufacture of woolen goods until about two years
ago. Mr. Perkins began his career as a clerk in his brother's store, and
in 1860, was taken in as a partner. He leaves a widow, a son,
John H. Perkins, who is manager for Suffolk
County, of the New York and New Jersey Telephone Company, and four
daughters, Mrs. William Litchard; Mrs. Emma Thayer, of Riverhead; Mrs.
Grace McDonald of Manhattan; and Mrs. Marion Pettit, of Brooklyn, NY. He
has two sisters and a brother living in Riverhead, Mrs. T. M. Griffing,
Mrs. Wilson and John R. Perkins. 1907: July 12th - Suffolk County News - Sayville, NY.
Death:
John H. Perkins,
one of the shellfish commissioners of Suffolk county and for several years
county superintendent of the New York and New Jersey Telephone Co., died
on Wednesday morning at his home in Riverhead, aged 45 years. Death was
due to paralysis and terminated an illness of three months. The deceased
was the son of the late J. Henry Perkins, was
born in Riverhead and had always lived in that vicinity. He was widely
known and exceedingly popular. He is survived by a widow and one daughter.
Mrs. Perkins, is the daughter of the late Charles T. Duryea, of
Babylon. Funeral services will be held at the home of the deceased on
Saturday at 1 PM.

Death:
Congressman James B.
Perkins of Rochester, N.Y., who was recently operated upon for
intestinal trouble, died in a hospital at Washington. He was born in
Wisconsin in 1847 and wrote two works on French History.

Death:
William M. Litchard, died at his home. Mr.
Litchard was born at Setauket 56 years ago and for many years lived at
Greenport. He is survived by his widow, who is a daughter of the late
J. Henry Perkins of Riverhead; a son,
Harry P. Litchfield; and two daughters, Mrs. George H. Carleton and Miss
Christine Litchard.

Death:
The estate of the late Robert P. Perkins, who
maintained a country home at Centerport, NY, in this county, will pay an
inheritance tax of $91,843.94, according to the transfer tax papers filed
in the Surrogate's court. The estate has a gross value of more than
$2,100,000 and a net value of more than $1, 810,000. Some of those sharing
in the net estate are the following: Elsie N. Keily, sister, $155,905.60;
Frances Chapman, sister, $91,927.79; Mary L. Post, sister, ue of more than $1, 810,000. Some of those sharing
