Deaths of Relatives After Each is Reported to Have mentioned the others in their wills has complicated the situation:

Rochester, July 16th- Deaths of three relatives within a few days of  each other, after each is said to have mentioned the other in a will, has caused a complicated situation for attorneys and executors to untangle, according to papers filed with Surrogate Joseph M. Feely.

A few days after Dr. Charles A. Dewey, physician, who died last month, his nephew, George H. Perkins, vice-president of Smith-Perkins, died the following day on June 25th. Mr. Perkins sister, Mary P. Averell of Ogdensburg came to Rochester for the funeral and died of heart failure. Dr. Dewey is said to have left a large part of his estate to Mr. Perkins and Mrs. Averell. Mr. Perkins left bequests to Mrs. Averell and Dr. Dewey, and Mrs. is believed to have complicated the situation by remembering her uncle and her brother. The result may be that most of the all the estate will pass to Mrs. Averell's son, Chester D. Averell of Ogdensburg. Mr. Perkins  Will, admitted to probate, leaves Mrs. Averell all lands owned by him in Ducas County, OH. Dr. Charles A. Dewey life use of property at 174 Sprin Stree; the Rochester Historical Society, a portrait of Mr. Perkins father, William H. Perkins by Grover B. Gilbert and Benjamin Stillman of North Branch Station, N.J, the income of $10,000 trust fund. The Will directs that Mrs. Averell receive Stillman's trust on his death, and the Spring Street property on the death of Dr. Dewey, and that Mrs. Averell's son receive her share of the estate on her death. Following the death of Chester Averell the principal Will pass to the Rochester General Hospital. The Perkins estate is valued at approximately $30,000. Dr. Dewey is sad to have left property worth several million. How much Mrs. Averell left is not known.
