Deputy Marshal Perkins,
is a nephew of a prominent Massachusetts politician, and his right name is
William Salisbury of Salisbury, Mass. 1891: April 18th - The Long Islander - Huntington, NY.
Death:
The oldest inhabitant of this village,
Mrs. Marion Perkins, died on Tuesday night, aged 89 years.
Mrs. Perkins was the widow of the late
John Perkins, father of Supervisor
John R. Perkins and J.
Henry Perkins, our county Treasurer. Mrs.
Perkins, it seems, was the first Methodist that appeared in this
part of the county. The funeral took place in the M. E. Church, Rev. Mr.
Judd officiating. The coffin was borne in and out of the church by her
eight grandsons. Her descendants are very numerous and did much to fill up
the church. Mrs. Perkins died of an attack of
the grip. 1893: March 3rd - The Long Island Traveler -Southold, NY. The well and favorably known firm of
J. R. and J. H. Perkins, has received
additions to its membership and will be hence forth be known as
J. R. & J. H. Perkins & Co. The company is
composed of John H. Perkins, son of
J. Henry Perkins, and Wm. H. Sweezy, a
nephew, both of whom have long been employed in the store.

1901-1906: The Long Islander - Huntington, NY. Mrs. Cynthia Perkins
died at her home in this village last Saturday at the advanced age
of 83 years. The deceased was the daughter of the late H. V. Duryea, of
Woodbury, L.I. She was a sister of the Duryea Brothers who founded the
Glen Cove Starch Works. She leaves a husband, Usmer
? Perkins, and three children, Mrs. Anther and Mrs. Cummings, of
Brooklyn, NY and Harry Perkins of this
village. 1906: Nov. 30th - The Long Islander - Huntington, NY. Ex-Supervisor of Suffolk, County, NY John R. Perkins,
died at his home at Riverhead Tuesday after a brief illness at the age of
76 years. With Henry Perkins, now deceased,
John R. Perkins conducted a woolen mill and afterward a large
clothing store in Riverhead. More recently he gave his time to the
Riverhead electrical plant, in which he was largely interested. For twenty
years Mr. Perkins was Justice of the Peace of
Riverhead town, and was supervisor fourteen years. He leaves a widow and
four children. Dr. Edward Perkins, of
Manhattan; George H. Perkins, of Riverhead,
and the Misses Alice and Clara Perkins. 1924: July 11th - The Long Islander, Huntington, NY.
Death:
Judge Timothy M. Griffing, died at his home
at Riverhead, of old age. He was in his eighty-second year, having been
born on Nov. 22nd, 1842, in the house where he died, and where he resided
nearly all his life. In 1869, he married Miss
Caroline A. Perkins, a daughter of the late
John Perkins, who was one of the leading business men of Riverhead,
and the sister of the late J. Henry Perkins,
prominent merchant and political leader for many years. He is survived by
his widow, two sons, Fred L. and Robert P., and three daughters, Mrs.
Grace G. Hoon and Mrs. George Wolf, and Mrs. Harry G. Stephens.

Death:
Mrs. Elizabeth Perkins,
wife of Austin Perkins, passed away at her
home on Fort Hill, Tuesday. She was born in New York City, Nov. 17th,
1852, and was the daughter of John and Mary Filbrich Peters. Besides her
husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Hyde. Funeral services were
held today at her late home and interment was in the Huntington Rural
Cemetery. The Rev. Howard M. Richard, pastor of the Methodist church was
in charge. 1956: April 5th - The Long Islander (Huntington, NY)
Death:
Howard W. Perkins,
died at his home on March 30th. Mr. Perkins was born Nov. 26th, 1890, son
of William and Delia (King) Perkins. He was a veteran of Word War I . The
survivors are his children, William Perkins of Huntington, NY; Mrs. Grace
Stoddard of Smithtown; Mrs. Dorothy Cummings of East Northport; and a
sister Mrs. William Pickett of New York City. Interment in the Long Island
National Cemetery at Pine lawn.
