*Daniel Chapman
Perkins b.1810\1815 Chittenden Co., VT d.1880 Sherwood Forest, Clark Co., WI.
His biographical sketch stated that he married in 1831 to UNKNOWN
(UNKNOWN). He was listed on the 1850 Census at Indian Sands, Marquette
Co., WI with wife MARGARETTE (CORBIT\CORBETT)
b.1814 Scotland who he m. in 1842** at Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI. He was
listed on the 1860 WI Census at Leon, Waushara Co., WI. He made his first
land purchase on 3/3/1843 in Township/Range 006 North-021 East, W 1/2 SW
1/4, Section 24 in Milwaukee Co., WI. On 10/2/1854 he purchased another tract of land in
Township/Range 019 North-012 East, Section 5, SE 1/4 NE 1/4, Waushara Co.,
WI and again on 11/2/1854, Township/Range 019 North-012 East, Section 4, NW
1/4 NW 1/4 again in Waushara Co., WI. On 1/20/1880 he purchased two
tracts of land in Township\Range, 023 North-001 East, Section 34, E 1/4 NW
1/4 and N 1/2 SW 1/4 in Clark Co., WI.
They removed to Clark Co., WI around 1873. The town of Sherwood Forest, WI was
first named Perkins, WI but, was changed 3 year later to Sherwood Forest, WI and
was eventually changed to the name of Sherwood, WI. He is buried at the Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood township, Clark Co., WI.

He was listed on the 1850 Census at Indian Sands, Marquette Co., WI in the
household of Daniel Chapman

the 1860 WI Census at Leon, Waushara Co., WI with his wife
MELISSA (UNKNOWN) b.1831 NY. Their known children were:

*Note: Also residing in this household was his
father ORRIS PERKINS b.1785 MA.
Orris Perkins owned a distillery with his brother-in-law Simeon Whitcomb in 1819 at Portland, Chautauqua
Co., NY. In 1831 the family removed to Crawford Co., PA before coming to
Waushara Co., WI. He was a brother of
Hiram Perkins (above)
