ISAAC PERKINS

Isaac Perkins b.1762 N.C. d.1828. His 1st ANN (ADAMS), b.1761 d.1790 N.C.. His 2nd wife PHENIAH "Phena" (LEONARD). b.1763 N.C. d.1840 Clinton Co., Ohio. In 1802 they came from Guilford Co., N.C. to Waynesville, Warren Co., OH. In 1804 they settled in Clinton Co., Ohio.

His known children were:

1. Ann Perkins b. ca. 1786 N.C. m. 1810 Ohio; Hezekiah Hiatt
2. Caleb Perkins b. ?   d.1810 OH d/y during a hunting accident at age 18

*Will of Isaac Perkins - Dated 12.13.1827; recorded 10.1828. Wife, Pheniah, Daughters: Salina Perkins & Abigail Paist. Mentions other children but does not name them. Executor: brother-in-law, William Adams (brother of his first wife). Signed: Isaac Perkins. Witnesses: James Moon, Charles Potts and Timothy Scott.

John Leonard Perkins b. ca.1798 N.C.. Son of (Isaac & Pheniah (Leonard) Perkins). His 1st wife m. 1822 OH at the Center Meeting House;  JULIA ANN \JULIANNA (EACHUS), a daughter of Robert & Phebe (Thornburgh/Thornbrough) Eachus,  Quakers from Pennsylvania. His 2nd wife m.1833 OH;  JEMIMA (HAINS\HAYNES).  They were listed on the 1830-1850 Census at Richland, Clinton Co., OH.

His known child w/1st wife was:

Andrews\Andrew Perkins b. ca. 1786 NH d.1853 OH. His wife ELIZABETH (YOUNG). They removed from Knox Co., OH to Richland Co., OH ca. 1821. They were listed on the 1830 Census at Troy, Richland Co., Ohio. She died at Perkins township, Erie Co., OH

*It is said that Andrews Perkins was related to the Hon. Elias Perkins, resident of New London, CT whom the township of Perkins, Erie Co., OH was named for.

William Perkins b.1825 Columbiana Co., Ohio. Son of (John & Phoebe (Cook) Perkins). His wife CAROLINE (REA). They resided in Union Co., Ohio.

Franklin W. Perkins b. June 28th, 1855 Union Co., OH. Son of (William W. & Caroline (Rea) Perkins). His 1st wife ELLA (VOTAW), 2nd. FLORA J. (RILEY).

His known children w/1st wife were:

JAMES HANDASYD PERKINS
Rev. James Handasyd Perkins b.1810 MA d.1849 OH. Son of (Samuel G. & Barbara Cooper (Higginson) Perkins - brother of Thomas Handasyd Perkins, both sons of James & Elizabeth (Peck) Perkins). His wife SARAH HART (ELLIOTT). They removed from Boston, MA to Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio in 1832. He was a lawyer and a newspaper owner in Cincinnati, Ohio.  In 1849, believing that his two sons, ages seven and nine, were dead, Perkins apparently jumped into a river from a ferry-boat and drowned.

His children were:
