Feb. 3rd: The 46th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Page, took place Jan. 26th. More than 100 guests gathered. Their five daughters arranged the affair. It was interesting to recall in connection with this party, that the Page family lived on one of the few old homesteads, which as been continually occupied by descendants of the man who originally bought it, that being Mr. John Perkins, his wife and their seven children who came here from Vermont in 1828. They drove their oxen and household goods all the way, traveling with several other families. Mr. John Perkins was the grand-father of Mrs. Page, and one of the small children in the party was Mr. James Perkins, her father, then only 8 years of age. On June 30th, 1831, John Perkins purchased the present farm, where the Page's live from Mr. George Parish. On the 9th of April, 1850, John Perkins deeded the farm to James Perkins his son and father of Mrs. Page. He in-turn, gave a deed of the farm to Mr. & Mrs. Page. Here they have lived ever since their marriage, raising their five daughters. Thus four generations have lived and worked on their acres, content and prosperous. The farm is located a couple of miles out on the Old Straight Road. The five daughters are graduates of High School and the Potsdam Normal. Miss Leah Page married Mr. A. Groebler, Ivah Page- Mrs. Jordan is now widowed, Miss Gladys Page is away, Miss Florence Page and Miss Harriet Page are present at home.
