March 9th: Last week, Mr. George W. Perkins, the Florist, was looking over some papers of an ancient vintage. He found a bill of sale dated 1827 of his fathers, Job Perkins. He stated that 94 years ago, prices were considerably less then today. The last item in the bill of sale, was a gallon of Whiskey which was purchased by his father for 31 1/2 cents. This price stands out to strong contrast to the present price of $30 to $40 a gallon.
