Thank you for taking the time to read this.
We have a Nathaniel PERKINS whom we are researching. He was born in 1825 in Watertown, Jefferson County New York according to his pension records. (According to my grandmother he was from Pennsylvania.) We are looking for siblings or his descendants. We have one sibling, George Washington PERKINS. We have connected with his descendants. Nathaniel married Martha DORCHESTER in 1848 and together they moved to Hemlock, MI after the Civil War. They had Harriett (Henrietta or Hattie) b.1850, Caroline, Catherine, Chloe, Emma, George Washington, Jackson, and Alfred. We wondered if anyone from your PERKINS list were connected.
Thank you, Jan Johnson

Nathaniel Perkins- MI

Kevin O'Brien-- KevinOBrien8527@aol.com

Dear Fellow Researcher:
I am researching my great-great-grandfather Nathaniel Perkins. He was born on September 19, 1825 in Brownville, New York. He married Martha Dorchester, daughter of Hooker Dorchester and Maria Van Schaick in 1848.
Martha's lineage goes back to Alexander Dorchester, a Revolutionary War veteran. For that reason alone, I find it hard to accept that Martha's family of status would permit or support a marriage between them if Nathaniel's lineage was not one of patriotic descent. I believe the lineage travels back to George Washington's troops, but I am stuck without a solid lead as to the names of his parents. I have researched Census and military pension records, but they do not go beyond Nathaniel's birth. Can you help me or refer me to someone who can? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Kevin O'Brien

Hiram Perkins

Coslzly-- Coslzly1@unl.edu

We are searching for information on Hiram Perkins, born ~ 1820 in Newport, NH. His parents were Jacob and Polly Haven Perkins. The family moved from Newport to Vermont at some point in time. Hiram's siblings are: Jacob (b. Mar 14, 1810 in Newport); Abiah L. (b. Aug 3, 1818 in Newport); Betsey D. (b. ~ 1822 in Newport); Martha P. (b. ~1824 in Newport); Polly M. (b. ~ 1826 in Newport). Jacob is the son of Oliver Perkins and Lucy Gould. Any information you may have on this family would be appreciated. We know Hiram ended up in Missouri and we have very exact information on his family from 1842 to the present that we can share. But from ~1820, we have nothing definite. We would like to know if anyone knows where Polly and Jacob Perkins are buried. We plan to take a trip to VT and NH next summer so any information is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Perkins in Warren Co.,MO and Tulare Co.,GA

Nancy Doyle Howard-- ND_Howard@yahoo.com

WOW! This is a wonderful site, Denise!
My PERKINS start out in Warren Co.MO with Enoch Perkins who married Huldah Pringle of CT in 1835. The Perkins later moved west to Visalia, Tulare Co. in central CA. The Pringles went to OR via the Oregon and Applegate Trails in 1846. I would appreciate communicating with other researchers working on the western Perkins. I have always had a hunch that the two families had ties that went back to CT, but need more data. Thanks, Nancy in Studio City CA

I am trying to locate Richard Perkins born in about 1936 possibly around St Paris, Ohio for a friend. His nicknames were Nick and Dick. She also knows she has at least 4 siblings out there somewhere and would like to one day have the opportunity to meet her Fathers side of the family. Her Mother is from Germany and met him during the Vietnam war around 1965. He had thick red hair, freckles and wore glasses and was 6' tall. If you think you have Richard in your family history, please email me. Thank you.
