They arrived in Plainfield, VT as early as 1801 where he and was known to have resided at Range 5, Lots 1 & 2. They were listed on the 1810 Vermont Census at Plainfield, Caledonia Co., VT. Stephen Perkins b.1777 Topsfield, MA d.12.27.1870 Topsham, Orange Co., VT. Son of (Philemon & Abigail (Foster) Perkins). His wife NANCY (CARNES) b.1783 N.H. They arrived in Plainfield, VT as early as 1803 where he and was known to have resided at Range 5, Lots 1 & 2. He was listed on the 1810 Vermont Census at Plainfield, Caledonia Co., VT. In 1813 he settled at Range 8, lots 1 & 2 where he built a saw-mill. In 1820 they were listed at Plainfield, Washington Co., VT. He is listed on the 1850 Census at Plainfield, Washington Co., VT and on the 1860 & 1870 Census at Topsham, Orange Co., VT in the household of his son Amherst Perkins.
